NAFTA 2.0: The Case for a North Atlantic Free Trade Area

In May 2025, The Financial Post published an opinion piece I wrote, recommending that Canada should aim for a North Atlantic Free Trade Area including the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the European Free Trade Area. The United States could join at a later date. This arrangement would make strategic sense, as the U.S. and E.U. could offset each other in a single institutional framework.
